Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park contains the oldest karst mountains in Asia, formed approximately 400 million years ago. Riddled with hundreds of cave systems - many of extraordinary scale - and spectacular underground rivers. The area is considered a paradise for researchers and explorers of the caves. In 2003, the park was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site.

The first cave was discovered in 1990s - Phong Nha, one of the world’s longest systems. In 2005, beautiful Paradise Cave was discovered, and in 2009 a team found the world’s largest cave - Son Doong. Its collection of stunning dry caves, wet caves, terraced caves, towering stalagmites and glistening crystal-edged stalactites represent nature on a very grand scale indeed, and more riches are discovered.

Above the ground, most of the mountainous 885 sq km of Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park is near-pristine tropical evergreen jungle, more than 90% of which are primary forest with flora and fauna is very diverse.

Time to visit Phong Nha Ke Bang national park

- The dry season from February to August. It is the ideal time period to participate in the caving trip. In particular, from February to May is the best time to visit Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park.

- The rainy season from September to January next year. The rainfall concentrated in October and November, with a large amount of water will make the rivers rise higher, so the water cave trip is not being able, but the dry cave trip is still normal.
