The beautiful terraced rice field can see along the way up to Sapa from Lao Cai or all the way down to Muong Hoa valley - one of the most beautiful valleys in Vietnam. Rice crop here only once a year, start from June to October and this is the best time for trekking in Sapa, along the slope of the mountain, rice field and river.

Absolutely stunning landscapes, the color, the pattern, they are just sublime and majestic. Muong Hoa valley is at the lowest altitude of about 1000 meters. It was formed by a narrow strip of land at the base on the east side of the mountain for a length of 30km. It lies between two high ranges of mountains running parallel southeast of Sapa Town.

Rainwater running down from the highest elevation of mountain ranges, gathered into dozens of streams flowing downhill to form Muong Hoa river. The river peacefully flows through the valley, weaving itself along the foot of mountains, nourishing the land and the people.

Muong Hoa Valley takes about 5 hours to walk downhill, along the Muong Hoa river, through the terraced fields and passing some hamlets of minority groups and it's the largest farmland for rice-growing in Sapa.

Ta Van village is peacefully in Muong Hoa valley. Road to Ta Van village along the winding path at the foot of the hill, two sides are fertile terraced fields with blue corn and rice. Ta Van, according to local language means big arc, backrest on Hoang Lien Son mountain range. In front of the village is Muong Hoa stream with clear water, broad and flat, became the ideal bathing place for locals and tourists.

Ta Van village has more than 140 families with mainly Giay ethnic, of which about 40 families in the Homestay tourism - guests eat, stay and participate in activities with homeowners to explore indigenous culture. Most houses in Ta Van village are built on mountain slopes and between terraces, makes the landscape more poetic.

Probably quite familiar with the tourists to Ta Van village, so almost activities of the people living here still occur normally. No solicitations much, just a friendly smile with a little shy of Giay people, will help you easily harmony into mountain village life.

Giay people in Ta Van village still mainly engaged in agriculture. In addition, they can wrought instruments and engraved silver. Ingenious Giay women also create colorful embroidered products. Giay people love art, they also participate in cultural performances and traditional music, and organizing campfire at night for guests to join.

Visit Ta Van village, you can live the daily life of Giay people, this will give you a close-up experience of the lifestyle and culture typical of the area. You will stay in brick-roofed houses with earth floor on the mountainside, amidst terraced rice fields and primitive scenery. Again, you can feel relaxed, the peace of mind and have affection for the hospitality of the locals.
