Sung Sot cave - Halong Bay

Sung Sot cave

Sung Sot cave is located in the center of the world natural heritage Halong Bay, within Bo Hon island, discovered by the French in 1901 and named Grotte Des Surprises, means of surprise cave. The cave is one of the largest and the most beautiful caves in Halong Bay.

From the dock, climb 50 steep stone steps and go down about 10 stone steps to the door of Sung Sot Cave, situated about 25m above sea level, is obscured by foliage luxuriant. From here, you also can admire a beautiful and quiet sea of Halong Bay.

Inside Sung Sot cave has the stone path stretching from entrance to exit, over 500 meters long. Both sides of the path have the pillars with decorative lights. Lighting system with an elegant design, soft lighting help increase the beauty of the cave.

Sung Sot cave is regarded as an Opera theatre on Halong Bay with 3 main chambers covering an area of over 10,000 sq.m. Each chamber has its own beauty which surprises tourists. Especially, Sung Sot is one of the most typical karst caves in Halong Bay.

The splendid of Sung Sot cave as more confirmed, Halong Bay is not only beautiful  with thousands of undulating mountains on the ocean, but also intrigued by the magic and mystery of natural caves.
