Tam Coc
Tam Coc ecotourism area
Tam Coc means “three caves” - which are Hang Ca (the first), Hang Giua (the second) and Hang Cuoi (the smallest). This zone has more than 350 hectares (including Tam Coc and Bich Dong). The Vietnamese call the paddy fields of Tam Coc as the Green Sea.
A visit to Tam Coc basically consists of a three-hour boat ride along Ngo Dong river beginning at the village of Van Lam and proceeding through a scenic landscape dominated by rice fields and karst towers.
The boat trip route also includes floating through the three natural caves, the largest of which is 125 meters long with its ceiling about 2 meters high above the water.
The most impressive of Tam Coc are the rice fields and when at its best ( late May early June ), they are bright green with yellow, that extends all the way from the water’s edge to the foot of the rock formations.
