Phu Quoc cuisine & Phu Quoc specialties



Phu Quoc cuisine is famous for specialties :

- Goi Ca Trich (herring salad) : One of the special and common fish in Phu Quoc is herrings. With that advantage of fresh herrings, this salad is very famous in Phu Quoc’s traditional food. Herring salad is made by mixing chopped - filet herrings, onion, lemon juice, chili, pepper. A rolled herring salad with rice paper, dip-in special fish sauce is very tasty.

- Coi Bien Mai Nuong : Bien Mai is a species of clam, with a size of an adult hand. Coi Bien Mai is the two pieces of muscle that connect two shells of the clam. Coi Bien Mai can be processed via various ways, and the grilled may be considered the most delicious since it can maintain the original flavor.

- Ruou Sim (wine) : This kind of wine is made from ripe Sim fruit, which cannot be found nowhere else in the Mekong Delta region, except in Phu Quoc island. Sim wine has a special flavor and sweet that is pretty similar to cocktail.

- Nhum (sea-urchin) : The most delicious way is eaten raw or grilled, with mustard, fish sauce and lemon.
